In the movie "Go West Young Man," Mavis Arden (played by Mae West) is a glamorous and immensely popular movie star. During one of her personal appearance tours, her car unexpectedly breaks down, leaving her stranded in a small town. Suspicious that her publicity man, Lawrence Regan (played by Warren William), may have deliberately sabotaged the car to keep her away from a potential romantic interest, she scolds him but asks him to find her a place to stay.

While stuck in the town, Mavis catches the attention of a handsome and charming repairman named Bud Connors (played by Randolph Scott). Intrigued by his good looks and intrigued by his ideas about inventing new equipment for film productions, Mavis becomes infatuated with Bud. She finds herself attracted to his down-to-earth personality and his genuine passion for innovation.

As Mavis spends more time with Bud, she starts to question her glamorous lifestyle and the shallow relationships she has grown accustomed to. Bud's grounded nature and his dedication to his work begin to inspire her, providing a fresh perspective on her life and career. She starts contemplating the idea of pursuing a genuine and meaningful relationship rather than the fleeting flings she has been used to.

However, complications arise when Lawrence, Mavis's publicity man, becomes jealous of the attention Mavis is paying to Bud. He schemes to get rid of him and ensure that Mavis remains focused on her career. Meanwhile, Mavis grapples with her own indecisiveness as she tries to figure out what she truly wants, whether it is a relationship with Bud or to continue her successful career.

As the plot unfolds, Mavis must decide if she is willing to risk it all and break away from the expectations of her fame to embrace a more authentic life with Bud. "Go West Young Man" combines elements of romance, comedy, and self-discovery as Mavis journeys towards finding love and redefining her priorities.
