In One Good Turn, Stan and Ollie, known as "The Boys," find themselves in dire straits. With no money or job prospects, they resort to begging for food. They come across a kind-hearted old lady who takes pity on them and provides them with sandwiches.

Unbeknownst to Stan and Ollie, the old lady is rehearsing for a play in which she portrays a destitute woman being evicted from her home. They overhear her conversation with her landlord, who threatens to throw her out because she cannot afford to pay her mortgage. Mistaking her rehearsal for a real-life situation, Stan and Ollie decide to intervene and help her in any way they can.

In a show of goodwill, Stan and Ollie decide to sell their beloved car to raise money for the old lady. The car auction takes an unexpected turn when a drunken man accidentally slips his wallet into Stan's pocket. Ollie, witnessing the exchange, mistakenly believes that Stan has stolen the wallet from the old lady.

A heated argument ensues between Stan and Ollie, with Ollie accusing Stan of betraying their trust and robbing the old lady they intended to help. The truth eventually comes to light, revealing the accidental nature of the wallet's presence in Stan's pocket. Realizing his mistake, Ollie regrets his accusations and feels remorse for doubting his friend.

Motivated by his hurt feelings, Stan decides to play a prank on Ollie to get back at him for doubting his loyalty. The revenge plot culminates in a series of comedic mishaps and misunderstandings, showcasing the classic slapstick humor for which Stan and Ollie are known.

Ultimately, Stan reveals his prank to Ollie, forgiving him for his accusations and the two friends reconcile. They embark on a plan to help the old lady once again, this time avoiding any misunderstandings or missteps. With their unwavering friendship and determination, Stan and Ollie manage to save the old lady from being evicted, providing a heartwarming and comedic resolution to the story.
