In the movie Brats, Stanley and Oliver, played by the famous comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, are looking forward to a peaceful evening at home playing checkers. However, their plans are repeatedly interrupted by their mischievous and energetic sons, who are played by child actors.

As Stanley and Oliver begin their game of checkers, they are quickly interrupted by the boisterous children running around and causing havoc in the house. The mischievous sons seem to be everywhere, climbing furniture, breaking dishes, and generally wreaking havoc.

Trying to maintain their composure, Stanley and Oliver unsuccessfully attempt to corral the children and get them to settle down. The sons' relentless mischief throws the once tranquil home into chaos.

In an attempt to distract and tire their sons, Stanley and Oliver take them outside to play. However, their plan backfires, as the boys manage to paint the car, cover each other in mud, and turn the backyard into a complete mess.

Exhausted and frustrated, Stanley and Oliver bring the boys back inside, hoping to finally finish their game of checkers. However, the chaos continues as the children destroy the living room, knocking over lamps and breaking valuables.

Desperate for a moment of peace, Stanley and Oliver devise a plan to get the children to tire themselves out. They set up a game of checkers designed to confuse and distract the boys. In the midst of the game, a paint can is knocked over, causing a mess that results in the boys slipping and sliding all over the floor.

As the evening progresses, the chaos gradually subsides, and the exhausted children eventually fall asleep. Stanley and Oliver, finally able to enjoy a few moments of tranquility, finish their game of checkers triumphantly.
