In the movie Indiscreet, Anna Kalman, played by Ingrid Bergman, is a successful stage actress living in London. Despite her professional success, Anna has given up hope of finding true love and settling down. She confides in her sister about her disillusionment with men.

One day, while in the process of removing her face cream, Anna is unexpectedly introduced to Philip Adams, played by Cary Grant. Philip is a charming, intelligent, and attractive American economist.
