In All the President's Men, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, two young journalists at the Washington Post, begin investigating the break-in at the Democratic Party National Headquarters, which took place at the Watergate complex. As they dig deeper into the story, they realize that there is more to it than just a simple burglary.

Woodward's secret source, known as "Deep Throat," provides him with information that leads them to suspect that the break-in was actually part of a larger political conspiracy. They discover that the burglars were connected to the Committee to Re-elect the President (CRP), and they suspect that these higher-ups in the Republican Party may have been involved.

Woodward and Bernstein continue to uncover more evidence, conducting numerous interviews and following various leads. They find that large amounts of money were being illegally funneled into the CRP and used for activities such as spying on political opponents. They also come across a slush fund known as the "Watergate Fund," which was used to finance illegal activities within the White House.

Their relentless investigation puts them at odds with the Nixon administration, who tries to discredit their reporting and label it as mere speculation. However, Woodward and Bernstein persist, facing obstacles and threats along the way. As they get closer to the truth, they face immense pressure to drop the story and abandon their pursuit, but they refuse to back down.

Eventually, their investigative work leads them to the revelation that individuals within the White House, including some close to President Richard Nixon, were involved in the cover-up of the Watergate scandal. The film culminates in the resignation of President Nixon in 1974, as the scandal unravels and the truth is exposed.

All the President's Men is based on the true story of Woodward and Bernstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting, which ultimately led to the downfall of President Nixon and the exposure of one of the biggest political scandals in American history.
