In the movie Growing Pains, the story begins with four teenagers named Max, Lily, Jake, and Ava who have lived in an orphanage for most of their lives. Frustrated with the strict rules and lack of freedom, they decide to run away together in search of a more exciting and independent life.

One day, they receive news that a fellow orphan named Sam has been recently adopted by a wealthy family, the Thompsons. Filled with jealousy and resentment, the four teens plan an elaborate scheme to set Sam free from his new life and show him the excitement and thrill of their runaway adventure.

Using their resourcefulness and street-smarts, Max, Lily, Jake, and Ava find a way to sneak into the Thompsons' lavish mansion. Initially, they intend to persuade Sam to join them willingly, believing that he would be happier with them on their journey. However, their first encounter with Sam turns out to be more challenging than anticipated.

As Sam, still adjusting to his new environment, tries to understand their motives and convince them to leave, the tension between the teens rises. In an unexpected turn of events, they inadvertently damage the mansion while trying to convince Sam about their alternative way of life.
