In the movie "Mrs. Doubtfire," Daniel Hillard, played by Robin Williams, is a fun-loving but immature father who loves his three children dearly. Unfortunately, his reckless behavior leads to the breakdown of his marriage to Miranda, played by Sally Field, who gains primary custody of the children. Daniel is devastated when the divorce court limits his visitation rights to only one day a week.

Desperate to spend more time with his kids and prove that he can be a responsible parent, Daniel comes up with a wild plan. He disguises himself as an elderly British woman named Mrs. Doubtfire and applies for the position of a housekeeper at his ex-wife's residence. With the help of his brother Frank, played by Harvey Fierstein, who is a professional makeup artist, Daniel successfully transforms himself into the nurturing nanny.

As Mrs. Doubtfire, Daniel not only takes care of his own children but also becomes a beloved figure in their lives. Miranda, unaware of Mrs. Doubtfire's true identity, is impressed with the nanny's commitment and dedication to the children. Daniel, under the guise of Mrs. Doubtfire, begins to mend his relationship with his ex-wife and forms a bond with his kids on a deeper level.

However, maintaining his secret identity becomes increasingly challenging for Daniel as he tries to balance his new role as a nanny and his desire to reconcile with Miranda. He faces numerous amusing situations, including trying to juggle his housekeeping duties while avoiding exposure of his true self.

Conflict arises when Miranda starts dating Stu, played by Pierce Brosnan, a suave and successful businessman. Daniel, as Mrs. Doubtfire, becomes jealous and worries that Stu might replace him as a father figure for his children. He uses his alter ego to create chaos during Stu's visits, hoping to expose him as unfit.

Eventually, the truth about Mrs. Doubtfire is revealed during a chaotic dinner party. Daniel's elaborate charade is exposed, and Miranda, furious and hurt, breaks off all contact with him, vowing to keep him away from the children forever.

Realizing his mistakes, Daniel decides to show Miranda and his children that he can truly change. He attends therapy sessions and works on becoming a responsible and reliable father. Through his efforts, Daniel gains Miranda's trust back, and they eventually agree to co-parenting arrangements that allow him to spend more time with his kids.

In the end, Daniel's transformation pays off as he proves that he is capable of being the loving, attentive father his children deserve. While not undermining his ex-wife's authority, he remains a vital part of their lives, demonstrating the importance of growth, acceptance, and the unconditional love of a family.
