In the iconic Bollywood film "Mohabbatein," the story revolves around six vibrant students who enroll in a prestigious all-boys Gurukul (traditional Indian school) led by Narayan Shankar, a strict and traditional patriarch played by Amitabh Bachchan.

The six students - Sameer, Vicky, Karan, Jai, Gurumukh, and Ishta - arrive at Gurukul with dreams and aspirations, where they quickly become friends and enjoy their newfound freedom. However, their lives take an unexpected turn when they meet three female students from the nearby all-girls college - Megha, Sanjana, and Kiran.

The young students, captivated by the beauty and charm of the girls, go against the rules and fall in love with them secretly. Their innocence and youthfulness contrast greatly with the strict rules imposed by Narayan Shankar, who firmly believes that love has no place within his Gurukul walls.

When the patriarch discovers their forbidden relationships, he becomes furious and vows to expel any student caught in love. The lovers, unable to face the wrath of Narayan Shankar, feel helpless and devastated. Realizing the hopelessness of their situation, they begin accepting that their relationships might be doomed from the start.

However, the story takes another twist when a music teacher named Raj Aryan, portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan, arrives at the Gurukul. Raj Aryan is known for his charming personality and progressive outlook on life. He believes in the power of love and music as tools to bring change and break traditional barriers.

Raj Aryan becomes a ray of hope for the love-struck students, encouraging them to fight for their love and challenging them to stand against the strict norms of society. He introduces them to the magic of music and helps them express their emotions through songs and performances, providing them strength and guidance to face their patriarchal leader.

As the story unfolds, the enthusiastic students, inspired by Raj Aryan, strive to win over Narayan Shankar and the school authorities by showcasing their talents in a grand musical performance, defying the restrictions and traditions of Gurukul. While the climax of the film remains a surprise, "Mohabbatein" beautifully portrays the power of love, music, and the strength to challenge societal norms.
