The Mutations follows the story of a group of sideshow performers who find themselves at the mercy of a deranged scientist, Professor Nolter (Donald Pleasence), who is conducting gruesome experiments on humans and plants. The professor has succeeded in creating a group of grotesque, mutant hybrids that he displays as attractions in his sideshow.
As the mutations grow more out of control, the sideshow performers, led by a strongman named Lynch (Tom Baker), rally together to put an end to the professor's horrifying experiments. The mutants themselves also become increasingly agitated and rebellious, leading to a chaotic and terrifying showdown between the sideshow crew and the mutated monstrosities.
The film explores themes of morality, science gone wrong, and the consequences of tampering with nature. It delivers a blend of horror and science fiction, with a touch of dark humor, as the characters grapple with the ethical dilemmas and the consequences of the professor's tampering with the natural order.
