Horror   United States of America

As the paranormal activities escalate, the Freeling family becomes increasingly distressed. Steve's youngest daughter, Carol Anne, develops a mysterious connection with the supernatural entity residing in their house. She starts communicating with it through the family's television set, frequently uttering the famous quote, "They're here!"

The occurrences intensify, with the entire house shaking violently, objects being thrown around, and powerful gusts of wind turning their home into a terrifying vortex. One night, Carol Anne mysteriously disappears, and the Freeling family is left distraught. Desperate to retrieve their daughter, they turn to Dr. Lesh and her team of parapsychologists for assistance.

The team discovers that the house was built on an ancient burial ground, explaining the rampant supernatural activity. They attempt to communicate with Carol Anne, who is trapped and newly discovered to be in an alternate dimension known as the "Other Side." Through various technical equipment and psychic abilities, they are able to establish a connection with her.

However, they soon realize that the presence haunting the house is not just one, but many malevolent spirits. The team faces these spirits, attempting to rescue Carol Anne from their clutches. Meanwhile, the supernatural forces become increasingly aggressive, attacking both the family and the exorcists.

In a climactic battle, Dr. Lesh sacrifices herself to save Carol Anne, transferring her own life force to bring the young girl back from the Other Side. With Carol Anne safely returned, the parapsychologists inform the Freeling family that they must leave the house, as the spirits will continue to haunt them.

In a final desperate attempt to escape, the Freelings pack their belongings and attempt to flee from their haunted home. However, as they drive away, the house itself implodes into the ground, disappearing entirely.

The family finds solace at a hotel, finally free from the clutches of the malevolent spirits. As they settle into their new life, it's clear that the traumatic events they experienced in their previous home will forever leave a lasting impact on their lives.
