The movie "9th Company" follows a group of young Soviet military trainees in late 1988 as they undergo intense training under the brutal Warrant Officer Dygalo in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. The soldiers include Petrovsky, Ryaba, Chugun, Stas, Pinochet, Lyutev, and Vorobyev. Despite the harsh training regime, they form strong bonds with each other.

During their training, the trainees frequently visit a local prostitute known as Snow White, who provides them with comfort and companionship. Meanwhile, a brief lesson on the history, geography, and culture of Afghanistan is given, though most of the trainees show little interest and sleep through it.

Soon, the soldiers are deployed to Afghanistan and sent to the Bagram air base. From there, they are assigned to secure supply lines in the dangerous Afghani province of Khost. They quickly realize that the brutal training they underwent was only a fraction of the horrors they would face in combat.

As the 9th Company faces the reality of war, they find themselves caught in a relentless onslaught of violence and destruction. They witness countless casualties among their fellow soldiers and experience the devastating effects of the war firsthand. The realities of combat weigh heavily on the soldiers, and they struggle to cope with the horrors they encounter.

Amidst the chaos, the soldiers must rely on their camaraderie and friendship to survive. They form a tight-knit brotherhood, providing support and solidarity to one another during the darkest moments of the conflict.

Throughout the movie, the story follows the personal journeys of the individual soldiers, including their fears, hopes, and dreams. Their experiences in the war force them to confront their own mortality, question the purpose of their mission, and face the harsh realities of combat.

"9th Company" is a gritty portrayal of the Soviet-Afghan War, highlighting the human cost of battle and the emotional toll it takes on those who are thrust into it.
