In the movie Beautiful Girls, the story follows a close-knit group of friends who have known each other since their high school days in Knight's Ridge. The central character, Willie Conway, returns to his hometown for his ten-year high school reunion. At 29 years old, he finds himself at a crossroads in life, unsure of his future and feeling dissatisfied with his job as a piano player in New York City.

Throughout the movie, the group of friends, which includes Tommy "Birdman" Rowland, Paul Kirkwood, Mo, and Kev, navigate their own personal struggles and insecurities. Tommy, for instance, is a womanizer who struggles with commitment and fears settling down. He primarily spends his time lusting after his dream girl, a local beauty and aspiring singer named Andera. Meanwhile, Paul, who is paralyzed from a hockey accident, faces his own challenges and feelings of inadequacy in pursuing romantic relationships.

As the friends hang out in their favorite local hangout spot, The Horse Bar, they engage in conversations about women, relationships, and the complexities of adulthood. They find solace and camaraderie in each other's company as they share their hopes, dreams, and fears during the snowy winter.

The film also explores the theme of unrequited love through the relationship between Willie and his high school friend Marty. Willie is caught between his attraction to Marty, who is still pining for a former boyfriend, and his growing connection with Andera, who initially appears to be interested in him.

As the reunion approaches, the friends continue to grapple with their individual struggles, confronting their fears of commitment, feeling trapped in their hometown, and questioning their life choices. Through their conversations and encounters with various women, they begin to evaluate their desires, goals, and what truly matters to them.

Ultimately, the movie examines the complexities of romantic relationships and the challenges of growing up. It delves into the insecurities and uncertainties that often accompany adulthood, while highlighting the importance of friendship and finding solace in the company of those who truly understand you.
