In the movie "Bandits," Simon Verini is a skilled fence who orchestrates a heist of a fortune in jewels from Cartiers with a youthful gang. However, on the same day, as the famous actor Jean Gabin dies, tragedy strikes Simon's life. His wife is murdered by a kidnapper who also steals the stolen jewels.

As the prime suspect in both the theft and the murder, Simon is framed for the crimes and sentenced to ten years in prison. While behind bars, he writes letters to his daughter Marie-Sophie, who was only 11 years old when he was sent away. These letters serve as a means of maintaining their connection.

After his release from prison, Simon is determined to seek revenge on those he believes were involved in the crimes. He reconnects with Marie-Sophie, who is now a young woman, and also with the young thieves he once worked with. However, his pursuit of justice quickly lands him back in jail.

Marie-Sophie, unsure of how to reconcile her father's criminal past and violent actions, seeks solace in her Swiss fiancé, finding comfort and stability in their relationship. However, she is thrown off guard when one of the young thieves who had been involved in her father's schemes develops romantic feelings for her.

As the plot unfolds, the movie delves into the complexities of family dynamics, romantic entanglements, and the blurred lines between right and wrong. With crime intersecting their lives, the characters must grapple with their loyalties, desires, and the possibility of finding resolution amidst the chaos.
