The movie Freeway follows the story of young Vanessa Lutz, a troubled teenager who comes from a dysfunctional and abusive household. After her mother, Ramona, is arrested for prostitution and drug possession, Vanessa decides to find her estranged grandmother in hopes of finding a safe haven away from her troubled past.
Along her journey, Vanessa encounters Bob Wolverton, her school counselor, who offers her a ride. Unbeknownst to Vanessa, Bob is actually the infamous I-5 Killer, a serial killer who preys on young women. As they travel together, Vanessa becomes suspicious of Bob's behavior and starts to piece together his true identity.
