Sue Ann, also known as "Ma," agrees to buy alcohol for Maggie and her friends, but she sets some rules for their gatherings. She allows them to use her basement as a safe space to party under the condition that they do not go upstairs or leave her property intoxicated. At first, Ma is seen as a cool and understanding friend, attracting more teenagers to hang out in her basement.

As the parties continue, Ma starts to grow increasingly attached to the teenagers and becomes obsessed with their attention. She begins interfering in their lives, showing up uninvited to other social events and crossing boundaries by snooping around their personal belongings. The teenagers, unaware of her true intentions, question Ma's odd behavior but remain hopeful that they have found a reliable friend.

As the plot unfolds, it is revealed that Ma has a dark past involving some of the parents of the teenagers she befriends. She harbors resentment and seeks revenge for the pain they caused her in high school. Ma's actions become more sinister, and she starts to manipulate the teenagers, pitting them against each other and forcing them to participate in dangerous games.

The film delves deeper into Ma's disturbed psyche, exploring themes of isolation, revenge, and the desperate lengths some individuals will go to feel accepted and loved. As the teenagers begin to uncover Ma's true nature, they realize they are in grave danger and must find a way to escape her clutches before it's too late.

Ultimately, the plot builds to a suspenseful climax, where the teenagers confront Ma and attempt to outsmart her. The film explores the psychological and physical toll Ma's torment takes on both the teenagers and herself, leaving audiences on the edge of their seats as they witness the chilling consequences of Ma's quest for companionship.
