Ji-hae, a shy and introverted high school student, agrees to help her friend woo the boy she loves by writing heartfelt emails to him on her behalf. As Ji-hae starts crafting these letters, she begins to develop a deeper understanding of her friend's feelings and her own experiences with love.

Meanwhile, Ji-hae accidentally stumbles upon a box of love letters that belonged to her mother, Joo-hee, when she was younger. The letters reveal a profound and touching romance between her mother and a young man named Sang-min. Ji-hae is captivated by the emotional depth of the letters and begins to draw parallels between her mother's journey and her own.

As Ji-hae delves further into her mother's past, she uncovers more secrets and hidden emotions surrounding her own family. She also learns about the sacrifices her mother made for the sake of her family's happiness. Through this exploration, Ji-hae gains insight into her own struggles with love, personal growth, and the importance of following her heart.

As Ji-hae continues sending emails to her friend's crush, she finds herself falling for him as well. The boy, unaware of Ji-hae's involvement, reciprocates her feelings, believing that her friend is the one writing those heartfelt emails.

The Classic explores themes of love, destiny, sacrifice, and the timeless nature of true emotions. As the film progresses, Ji-hae must confront her conflicting emotions and decide whether to reveal the truth about the emails and risk losing the boy she loves. In the process, she discovers the strength within herself to follow her heart's desires, just as her mother once did.
