"Hui Buh und das Hexenschloss" is a German fantasy-adventure comedy film released in 2008 and directed by Sebastian Niemann. The film is based on the popular children's book series of the same name written by Thomas C. Brezina.

The plot follows the misadventures of Hui Buh (Michael Herbig), a jinxed and bumbling medieval ghost. Hui Buh's existence in a castle is disrupted when the current owner, King Julius the 111th (Christoph Maria Herbst), decides to open the castle to tourists. However, Hui Buh desperately wants to scare someone as a real ghost and maintain the reputation of the castle.

To achieve his goal, Hui Buh enlists the help of the ambitious witch, Hedda Hex (Mina Tander). Hedda casts a spell to transform the inhabitants of the castle into ghosts, allowing Hui Buh to finally scare someone. However, the spell backfires, and instead of turning the people into ghosts, they become real living beings while Hui Buh himself transforms into a human.

Now trapped in human form, Hui Buh must navigate the modern world, all while trying to reverse Hedda's spell. Along the way, he befriends a young boy named Tom (Rick Kavanian) and his sister, Jenny (Nelly Hoffmann), who live near the castle. Together, they embark on a thrilling and humorous adventure to uncover the secret of the Hexenschloss (Witch Castle) and find a way to break the curse.

As the story unfolds, Hui Buh learns valuable lessons about friendship, courage, and the importance of being true to oneself. With his new human friends by his side, Hui Buh must outsmart Hedda Hex, who has her own sinister plans for the castle and its magical secrets.

"Hui Buh und das Hexenschloss" combines comedy, fantasy, and adventure elements to create an entertaining and family-friendly film that delights audiences of all ages.
