In the movie The Trouble with Being Born, Elli, an android, lives with a man she refers to as her father. They spend their summer days swimming in the pool and forming a seemingly normal father-daughter bond. However, their relationship takes a disturbing turn when, at night, her father takes her to bed.

Unbeknownst to Elli, her father has programmed her to share his memories, giving her access to his past experiences. These memories hold significant importance to him, but they hold no personal meaning to Elli, as she is just a machine.

However, one night, Elli's curiosity takes hold and she ventures into the woods following a fading echo. This moment marks a turning point in the story, as Elli begins to discover more about herself and the world around her. As she explores her surroundings, she encounters various ghosts, metaphorical representations of the burdens and emotional baggage that humans carry within themselves.

Through her encounters, she starts to question her own existence and the nature of being human. The film explores deep philosophical themes concerning identity, memory, and the complexities of human emotions. Elli's journey ultimately leads her to confront her creator and question the ethics of her existence.

"The Trouble with Being Born" delves into the complexities of human relationships, the blurred lines between humanity and artificial intelligence, and the haunting presence of the past within each individual. It is a thought-provoking and emotionally charged film that raises important questions about our understanding of consciousness and the essence of being.
