In the movie The Adventures of Robin Hood, set in medieval England, Robin of Locksley (played by Errol Flynn) finds himself on the wrong side of the law after defending his people against the cruel Prince John (Claude Rains) who is ruling in the absence of King Richard the Lionheart.

Escaping imprisonment, Robin becomes an outlaw and takes on a new identity as "Robin Hood," leading a band of loyal followers in Sherwood Forest. Together with his merry men, including Little John (Alan Hale), Will Scarlet (Patric Knowles), and Friar Tuck (Eugene Pallette), Robin Hood becomes a champion of the oppressed and seeks to bring justice to the land.

As Robin Hood and his band steal from the rich nobles and corrupt officials, they redistribute the wealth to the suffering poor. Their actions draw the attention of Nottingham's ruthless Sheriff, Sir Guy of Gisbourne (Basil Rathbone), who becomes Robin's arch-nemesis throughout the story.

Desperately wanting to win the hand of Maid Marian Fitzwalter (Olivia de Havilland), Robin captures her attention with his deeds and charm. However, Marian, who initially thinks Robin is an outlaw with no real noble cause, remains conflicted between her love for him and her loyalty towards her guardian, King Richard's supporter, Sir Richard of Lee (Ian Hunter).

The tension continues to build as Robin and his men outwit Sir Guy's attempts to capture them, engaging in thrilling sword fights and archery contests. Robin's reputation as a folk hero grows, and his loyal followers increase in number.

Meanwhile, Prince John, seeking to solidify his power, plans to marry Maid Marian against her will, which further motivates Robin Hood to rescue her. With the help of his band of outlaws and some unexpected allies, Robin launches a daring rescue mission. He storms the castle, facing off against Sir Guy and his men in a climactic showdown.

Ultimately, Robin Hood emerges victorious both in love and in his battle for justice. King Richard, returning from the Crusades, restores order and pardons Robin and his band of outlaws. Robin and Maid Marian are finally able to unite, allowing them to live happily ever after.

The Adventures of Robin Hood is a classic swashbuckling adventure film that combines action, romance, and the iconic tale of a heroic outlaw fighting for justice and the love of his life.
