After Simba is forced into exile, he stumbles upon the carefree meerkat, Timon, and the lively warthog, Pumbaa, who become his closest companions. They teach Simba their philosophy of "Hakuna Matata," meaning "no worries," and encourage him to forget about his past and live a carefree life in the jungle.

Years later, as a young adult, Simba has embraced his carefree lifestyle and forgotten about his duties as king.
