In the movie Wonder Woman, after leaving her homeland of Themyscira, Princess Diana (played by Gal Gadot) becomes Wonder Woman and embarks on a journey to stop the god of war, Ares, from spreading violence and destruction during World War I.

As Diana arrives in London with Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), she is introduced to the complexities and cruelties of the human world. Determined to fulfill her destiny as an Amazon warrior and end the war, Diana believes that Ares is manipulating mankind towards destruction. With the assistance of Trevor and a group of misfit soldiers, she sets out to locate and defeat Ares, convinced that ending his influence will bring about an end to the war and restore peace.

Throughout their mission, Diana showcases her incredible powers and fights against enemies, both human and supernatural. As the group of allies ventures through war-ravaged areas and treacherous battlefields, Diana's unwavering belief in the inherent goodness of humanity is tested. She witnesses the horrors of war firsthand but also experiences moments of compassion and love.

Eventually, Diana confronts the true nature of Ares and engages in an intense battle with him. In a climactic showdown, she embraces her full potential as the demigoddess daughter of Zeus and defeats Ares, saving the world from his influence. However, she soon realizes that despite vanquishing Ares, the war does not end. Diana learns the complexities of human conflict and that defeating one god cannot fully eradicate human corruption and evil.

In the end, unable to prevent the continuation of war, Diana chooses to remain dedicated to protecting and guiding humanity. Wonder Woman emerges as a symbol of hope, justice, and love, committing herself to fight for truth and inspire others to do the same. The movie concludes with a glimpse of present-day Diana working as a curator at the Louvre in Paris, her superheroine identity kept secret from the world.
