3096 Days is a film adaptation of the true story of Natascha Kampusch, who was abducted at the age of 10 and held captive for 8 years by Wolfgang Priklopil in Austria. The movie follows Natascha as she is kidnapped on her way to school and held in a hidden cellar beneath Priklopil’s house.

Throughout her captivity, Natascha suffers various forms of abuse, isolation, and manipulation at the hands of her captor. She struggles to survive and maintain her sanity while enduring the horrors of her situation.

The film also portrays Natascha's attempts to form a semblance of a normal life within her confines, including secretly reading books, listening to the radio, and finding ways to communicate with the outside world. It also depicts her complex and conflicted relationship with Priklopil, who oscillates between being a captor and a father figure to her.

The story unfolds over the course of her captivity, detailing her emotional and physical struggles, as well as her eventual escape in 2006 when she was 18 years old. The film sheds light on the resilience and strength that Natascha displayed in overcoming such a traumatic and prolonged ordeal.
