In the movie Te3n, the story revolves around John Biswas (played by Amitabh Bachchan), a grief-stricken grandfather who is still haunted by the kidnapping and murder of his granddaughter, Angela, eight years ago. Despite years passing, John has not been able to move on and seeks closure for his loss.
Desperate for answers, John takes matters into his own hands and starts investigating the case himself, as the police were unable to apprehend the kidnapper. However, due to his old age and lack of resources, John's attempts are mostly in vain.
One day, a similar kidnapping occurs, and the case is assigned to police officer Sarita Sarkar (played by Vidya Balan). Sarita's determination to solve the current case leads her to the archives, where she stumbles upon the file related to Angela's kidnapping.
