In the movie Snowpiercer, years after a failed attempt to combat global warming, an experiment called CW7 causes a catastrophic ice age that wipes out almost all life on Earth. The only survivors are the passengers aboard the Snowpiercer, a massive train powered by a perpetual-motion engine that circles the globe continuously.
Inside the train, a highly stratified class system has developed, with the wealthy and privileged living in luxurious front sections, and the poor, laboring class inhabiting cramped and impoverished rear sections. They are joined by an enigmatic and knowledgeable security specialist named Namgoong Minsu (Song Kang-ho) and his daughter Yona (Ko Ah-sung), who possess valuable skills necessary to navigate through the train.
