In the movie Scary Movie, a group of high school students find themselves being targeted by a mysterious killer who is spoofing popular horror films. Cindy Campbell (played by Anna Faris), a self-conscious and naive teenager, becomes caught up in the chaos as she tries to navigate through the hilariously terrifying events happening around her.
As the killer picks off their friends one by one, Cindy and her friends Brenda (played by Regina Hall), Ray (played by Shawn Wayans), and Shorty (played by Marlon Wayans) must figure out who is behind the murders and put an end to the bloodshed. Along the way, they encounter various eccentric characters like the sexually-driven news reporter Gail Hailstorm (played by Cheri Oteri) and the strange psychic Doofy (played by Dave Sheridan).
