In the movie Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno, the story unfolds as Conan Edogawa, the brilliant teenage detective, learns that the famous thief Kaito Kid has targeted a replica of Van Gogh's Sunflowers painting. The replica is part of an auction taking place at the prestigious Leblanc Museum in Tokyo.

As the auction begins, Kaito Kid emerges in his signature white suit, disguising himself as one of the waiters. With his extraordinary skills, he manages to swap the original painting with the replica right under everyone's noses. However, to everyone's surprise, Kaito Kid announces that he didn't steal the replica but the genuine painting itself, leaving the audience and the authorities bewildered.

Detective Conan, along with his friend and detective partner Ran Mouri and her father, Inspector Kogoro Mouri, quickly join the investigation to recover the stolen masterpiece. They discover that the real motive behind the theft is connected to a larger plot involving a secret treasure hidden within the painting.

Conan soon deduces that the mastermind behind the theft is an art collector and renowned auctioneer named Jirokichi Suzuki. Suzuki has been obsessed with obtaining the treasure hidden in the Sunflowers painting for years. In order to retrieve it, he planned the theft and manipulated Kaito Kid into performing the heist.

As Conan and the gang follow the trail of clues, they find themselves entangled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with Suzuki and his ruthless henchmen. Along the way, they encounter a charming and mysterious art appraiser named Yukiko Kudo, who is revealed to be Conan's mother, using a disguise to stay unnoticed.

With Yukiko's assistance, Conan and his friends race against time to outwit Suzuki, expose his true intentions, and recover the stolen Van Gogh masterpiece. They navigate through elaborate traps, hidden passages, and even an explosive-filled Ferris wheel.

In the climax of the movie, Conan and Kaito Kid team up to thwart Suzuki's plans and recover the painting. With their combined skills and intelligence, they manage to outsmart Suzuki's traps, unveil the secret treasure within the painting, and bring justice to the art world.

In the end, the stolen Van Gogh painting is safely returned to the Leblanc Museum, and Kaito Kid disappears into the night, leaving Conan with a sense of admiration for the elusive thief's abilities. The movie ends with Conan vowing to continue his pursuit of justice and solving mysteries, ensuring that criminals like Suzuki are brought to justice.
