In the land of Britannia, Bowen, a skilled but disillusioned knight, makes a living by staging dragon slayings for villages terrorized by fearsome creatures. However, unbeknownst to the villagers, Bowen secretly spares the lives of the dragons and only pretends to kill them. He believes that the extinction of dragons will bring peace to the realm.

One day, Bowen encounters a dragon named Draco, the last of his kind. To Bowen's surprise, Draco can speak and has a sarcastic and witty personality. Draco explains that he and other dragons were once worshiped as gods by the people, but when King Einon came to power, he turned against the dragons and began mercilessly hunting them down.

Bowen, driven by his hatred for the tyrannical King Einon, strikes a deal with Draco. Together, they will fool the world into believing that Draco is still a fearsome menace, allowing Bowen to continue collecting rewards from the fearful villagers. However, the plan takes an unexpected turn when they witness Einon brutally mistreating a peasant girl named Kara.

Stricken with guilt, Bowen decides to train Kara as a knight alongside himself and eventually reveals his true intentions: to slay King Einon and end his oppressive rule. Reluctantly, Draco agrees to help, knowing that if the king dies, he too will perish, as his heart is magically linked to Einon's.

As Bowen and Kara infiltrate the king's castle, they face numerous challenges, including Einon's loyal and brutal henchman, Lord Felton. Along the way, Bowen falls in love with Kara, who becomes a source of inspiration and strength. Meanwhile, Draco, despite his initial cynicism, learns to care for Bowen and develops a sense of duty and honor.

Eventually, Bowen and Kara confront King Einon in a climactic battle. Draco, unable to stay away, aids them in the fight despite knowing the risk to his own life. In the midst of the chaos, Elena, Einon's mother, reveals that she had placed a piece of her own heart in Einon to save him when he was mortally wounded as a child, inadvertently binding Draco's fate to the king.

With Draco's help, Bowen defeats Einon, but in the process, Draco sustains a fatal wound. As Draco dies, Bowen desperately seeks a way to save him. Elena appears once again, offering Bowen a choice: to let Draco die, thus ensuring Einon's death, or to transfer his own heart to the dragon to save him. In a moment of selflessness, Bowen sacrifices himself, giving his heart to Draco.

In the end, Draco and Kara mourn Bowen's loss and reflect on the impact he had on their lives. Draco, now the last dragon on Earth, promises to carry on Bowen's legacy and warns Kara that there may be more battles to fight in the future. Together, they look to the skies, ready to face the challenges ahead.
