In the movie Bad Man from Red Butte, the cowboy protagonist, Roy, arrives in a small town only to be mistaken for his twin brother, Bud, who is wanted for murder. Roy's resemblance to his twin brother triggers a series of unfortunate events and misunderstandings as he navigates through the town.

The townspeople, including the local sheriff, are convinced that Roy is the wanted criminal and immediately begin treating him with suspicion and hostility. Eventually, Roy catches up with Bud and the gang in Red Butte, a rough and lawless town where they are planning their next big heist. In a thrilling climax, Roy must confront his brother and convince him to surrender, while also trying to outsmart Black Bart and his gang.

In a dramatic final showdown, Roy's true identity is revealed, and he is cleared of all charges. The townspeople and law enforcement finally realize their mistake, and Roy's bravery and perseverance earn him the respect and admiration of the community.
