Juan of the Dead is a dark comedy horror film set in Havana, Cuba. The story revolves around Juan, a lazy middle-aged man who is forced to confront a zombie apocalypse threatening to overrun the city. Initially, the government-controlled media blames the disturbances on dissidents funded by the United States, causing panic and confusion among the population.

As chaos ensues and the streets become overrun with the undead, Juan realizes that he has a unique ability to kill zombies by destroying their brains. Seeing an opportunity to profit from the situation, he hatches a plan to start a small business focused on providing a specialized service to the fearful citizens of Havana. Alongside his best friend Lazaro, they form a team of misfits and set up their business with the catchy slogan "We kill your loved ones."

As their reputation grows, Juan and his team become known as the go-to experts for zombie extermination. They face numerous challenges and encounters with the undead, often leading to hilarious and outrageous situations. The film cleverly combines comedy, horror, and political satire, weaving in social commentary beneath the surface.

However, amidst the bloody chaos and humorous situations, Juan starts to realize the importance of protecting his loved ones and his city. The film explores themes of friendship, family, resilience, and the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.

As Juan and his team continue their zombie-killing spree, they begin to question the origins and cause of the outbreak. They uncover a government conspiracy and the real reason behind the zombie invasion, leading them on a mission to expose the truth to the citizens and fight back against the oppressive regime.

With a mix of slapstick humor, gory zombie kills, and a heartwarming underdog narrative, Juan of the Dead tackles the zombie genre with a unique Cuban twist. It offers a satirical examination of the human condition, political corruption, and the power of solidarity in the face of overwhelming odds.
