In the movie Rabid Dogs, the three violent criminals mentioned in the synopsis are named Doc, Blade, and Thirty-Two. They initially attempt to rob a bank but things go awry, and their escape plan fails. Desperate and on the run from the police, they resort to taking hostages to aid their escape.
The young woman, named Viola, is a cashier working at the bank they targeted. They force her into the car, along with the middle-aged man, named Ricardo (also known as "The Father"), and his asthmatic son, who remains unnamed. The criminals believe that having innocent hostages will decrease suspicion and make it easier for them to go unnoticed by the police.
As they make their way outside Rome, tension rises among the captors and captives. The criminals resort to sadistic mind games and brutal acts of violence to maintain control over the hostages and assert dominance. They constantly threaten and manipulate their captives, forcing them to follow orders without question.
