In the film Champagne, the rebellious daughter Betty grows tired of her wealthy and sheltered life and seeks independence by marrying Jean, who is financially impoverished. Despite her father's strong disapproval, Betty elopes with Jean to France, where they aim to build a life together.

Upon arriving in France, Betty and Jean begin living in luxury with the money Betty receives from her father's business. Their extravagant lifestyle is fueled by the profits they enjoy from her father's successful enterprises. Their days are filled with lavish parties, fine dining, and indulging in all the luxuries money can buy.

Betty's father, desperate to bring her back under his control, devises a scheme to put an end to her behavior. Pretending that his business is on the verge of bankruptcy, he hopes this will coerce Betty into returning home. However, this strategy backfires as Betty's rebellious nature leads her to refuse any help or financial aid from her father.

Realizing that she has been living a life of superficial happiness, Betty decides to become self-reliant and support herself. She finds employment at a night club, where she works to make ends meet. Through her job, Betty learns valuable lessons about survival, hard work, and the true value of money. As she immerses herself in the world of nightclub entertainment, she meets a diverse cast of characters and learns about the struggles and dreams of those who have to work to make a living.

Throughout this journey, Betty experiences personal growth and begins to appreciate the significance of independence and self-sufficiency. With her newfound determination, she fights against the societal norms that expect her to live a life of privilege and instead embraces the challenges of earning her own living.

In the end, Champagne serves as a story of a rebellious girl who defies her father's wishes, experiences a life of luxury, only to ultimately find herself and learn the virtues of hard work and self-reliance.
