Thriller   Ireland

Traders is a psychological thriller film set in modern-day Ireland. The story revolves around a group of financially struggling individuals who find themselves trapped in a high-stakes underground trading game known as "Trading." This game has its own set of rules and operates on the premise that it is more beneficial for ordinary people to kill each other for money rather than endure a life of financial ruin and misery.

The film introduces Harry Fox (played by Killian Scott), a young and intelligent trader who stumbles upon this secret world of Trading after experiencing a devastating loss in the stock market. He is quickly initiated into this dark game by a fellow trader, Vernon Stynes (played by John Bradley), who takes him under his wing.

In this twisted world of Trading, participants are randomly paired up and given a fixed amount of money. They then have a specified time frame to find and kill their partner. The survivor walks away with both their own initial sum and that of their victim. The game is organized by a mysterious figure known as The Procurer (played by Peter O'Meara) who monitors and oversees the brutal trades.

As Harry delves deeper into Trading, he realizes that there are no morals or boundaries in this deadly game. The participants are pushed to the limit, both physically and mentally, as they battle for their survival and financial prosperity. The film intensifies as Harry finds himself caught in a web of deceit, facing opponents who are ruthless and determined to win at any cost.

Amidst the paranoia and violence of Traders, Harry develops an uneasy alliance with a talented but troubled trader named Vernon Stynes. Together, they set out to uncover the truth behind the game and ultimately seek revenge on The Procurer. As they navigate this treacherous world, their lives are constantly at risk, and their sanity is pushed to the brink.

Traders examines the darker side of human nature, exploring themes of greed, desperation, and the lengths people will go to escape financial hardship. With its suspenseful plot and thought-provoking premise, the film highlights the lengths ordinary people might be driven to in a society plagued by economic inequality and despair.
