In "I Remember You," the story follows two parallel plotlines that eventually intertwine.

The first plotline revolves around Freyr, a psychiatrist who moves to a small Icelandic town with his wife, Dóra. As Freyr settles into his new practice, he discovers that an older lady named Ragnheiður, who had recently committed suicide in a local church, was deeply obsessed with the disappearance of his eight-year-old son, Benni, who went missing three years prior. Intrigued and deeply affected by this revelation, Freyr decides to investigate further.

As Freyr begins his search for answers, he meets a young woman named Katrín, who is convinced that her own son can see and communicate with the deceased. Freyr's belief in the supernatural is tested as he delves deeper into Ragnheiður's obsession and the disappearance of his son, eventually uncovering a series of strange events and unexplained phenomena that connect the cases.

Simultaneously, the second plotline follows three city dwellers: Gardar, Katrin's ex-partner, and two friends, Lif and Garðar. They decide to restore an old, abandoned house in a remote area. However, as they carry out the renovations, they begin to experience inexplicable occurrences that suggest the house is haunted. Objects move on their own, eerie sounds echo through the rooms, and unsettling visions torment the group.

The paths of these characters eventually converge when Freyr realizes that a connection exists between the two storylines. As he gets closer to solving the mystery surrounding his son's disappearance, he uncovers dark and supernatural secrets tied to the haunted house, Ragnheiður's obsession, and the true identity of the entity responsible for these unsettling events.

"I Remember You" combines elements of supernatural horror, psychological thriller, and mystery to create a chilling narrative of loss, obsession, and the consequences of unresolved grief. The film explores the delicate border between the realms of the living and the dead, delving into the human psyche and the haunting power of memory.
