In the film Bongwater, David, a talented artist and avid marijuana user, is devastated when his house mysteriously burns down. Feeling a sense of loss and heartbreak not only from losing his home but also from his failed relationship with the beautiful and seductive Serena, David seeks solace in his familiar world of marijuana and his eccentric circle of friends.

While trying to cope with his emotions and find a new direction in life, David becomes even more immersed in the subculture of recreational drug use.
