"Three Monkeys" is a Turkish drama film directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan. The story revolves around the Eyup family, consisting of father Eyup (a chauffeur), mother Hacer (a seamstress), and their teenage son Ismail. Eyup is the chauffeur for a prominent politician named Servet, and one night, he accidentally hits a person with Servet's car. In a panic, Eyup decides to take the blame for the accident to protect his boss, accepting a substantial amount of money in return.

As Eyup serves his jail sentence, Hacer and Ismail struggle to maintain their lives. However, instead of using the money for their living expenses, Hacer begins an affair with Servet, who promises to support their financial needs. This secret relationship soon starts to unravel when Servet's wife Nesibe starts suspecting her husband's infidelity.

Meanwhile, Eyup is released from prison early due to good behavior. He returns home unaware of the affair between his wife and Servet. Hacer's guilt and fear of Eyup discovering the truth worsen when Nesibe confronts her about the affair and threatens to expose everything.

To protect their family's stability and avoid further conflict, Hacer decides to poison Servet, which ultimately kills him. Hacer confesses the murder to Eyup, who helps her dispose of the body. As the police investigation intensifies, the family's unity starts to crumble under the weight of their lies and the constant fear of being caught.

Throughout the film, the concept of the "Three Monkeys" is explored, symbolizing the family's choice to turn a blind eye to the truth, to not see, hear, or speak about it. However, as their lies escalate and the consequences of their actions become unavoidable, the Eyup family's attempt to shield themselves from the truth comes back to haunt them.

Ultimately, "Three Monkeys" delves into themes of guilt, betrayal, and the consequences of avoiding the truth. It depicts a family's desperate struggle to hold onto each other amidst a web of deception, illuminating the moral complexities and emotional toll that arise when small lies snowball into an extravagant cover-up.
