Django Unchained is a 2012 American Western film directed by Quentin Tarantino. The movie revolves around the character of Django, a former slave who becomes a bounty hunter after being freed. The film is set in the deep south of Mississippi, two years before the Civil War.

The story begins when Django (played by Jamie Foxx) is freed by a German bounty hunter named Dr. King Schultz (played by Christoph Waltz). Schultz offers Django his freedom in exchange for his help in tracking down and capturing three outlaw brothers known as the Brittle brothers. Impressed by Django's skills and determination, Schultz offers him a deal to become his business partner, promising to help him rescue his wife, Broomhilda von Shaft, who is enslaved on a brutal plantation owned by Calvin Candie (played by Leonardo DiCaprio).

They devise a plan to infiltrate Candie's plantation called "Candyland" by posing as potential buyers interested in purchasing a Mandingo fighter named Eskimo Joe. As they arrive at the plantation, they encounter Candie's loyal house slave, Stephen (played by Samuel L. Jackson), who senses something suspicious about Django and Schultz.

Despite their initial success, tensions rise as Django and Schultz's true intentions become clearer to Candie, who is a sadistic and ruthless plantation owner. A confrontation arises, leading to a violent shootout, resulting in Schultz's death. In a fit of grief and rage, Django is captured and subsequently sold to a mining company where slaves are forced to work under extreme conditions.

Django's situation becomes dire, but with the help of fellow slaves, he manages to escape and returns to Candyland to rescue his wife. A brutal and explosive showdown ensues, as Django confronts Candie and his henchmen, seeking revenge for the cruelty inflicted upon him and his wife.

Ultimately, Django successfully kills Candie and his allies, rescues Broomhilda, and sets the remaining slaves free. The film concludes with Django riding away with his wife on horseback, ensuring their freedom and revenge against the oppressive plantation system.
