In the movie "The Third Generation," set in West Germany around 1980, a wealthy capitalist named PJ Lurz cleverly funds terrorists to create chaos and panic within the government and industry. Lurz believes that this will ultimately boost the sales of his computer business.

Meanwhile, a new generation of left-wing activists is emerging, following the decline and crippling of the violent Red Army Faction, a notorious terrorist group in West Germany. These activists, referred to as the third generation, are determined to challenge the capitalist system and fight for their political beliefs.

Lurz's secretary, whose name remains unknown, is revealed to be a member of a gang involved in criminal activities. Unbeknownst to Lurz, her father-in-law, who is also her lover, happens to be a police commissioner. This secret relationship becomes entangled with the complex web of alliances and motivations within the story.

As the plot unfolds, it is revealed that Lurz has hired a corporate security force to protect himself and his interests. The police commissioner, aware of his daughter-in-law's involvement with Lurz and the gang, takes advantage of this connection. He utilizes Lurz's security force to further his own ambitions and to maintain control over the situation.

The film explores the themes of political activism, terrorism, societal manipulation, and the blurred lines between law enforcement, criminal activities, and corporate power. As tensions escalate and conflicts arise between various factions, the characters find themselves trapped in a dangerous game where loyalties are tested, and the consequences of their actions become increasingly grave.

"The Third Generation" offers a critical examination of the relationship between capitalism, terrorism, and the political landscape of 1980s West Germany.
