As Raymond Lembecke begins working at the warehouse, he reconnects with his former girlfriend Addy Monroe, who is now in a relationship with another man named Curtis Freley. Curtis is a violent and manipulative individual who is involved in criminal activities himself. Lembecke becomes increasingly frustrated with his low-paying job and starts to feel trapped in his life.

Meanwhile, Vago, Lembecke's mob boss, continues to exert control over Lembecke's life and demands that he carry out additional tasks for him. Lembecke decides that he has had enough and forms a plan to steal a million dollars' worth of drugs from Vago. He collaborates with his criminal friends, including Pat Quid, named after Raymond Chandler's character Philip Marlowe, and Curtis' brother, Marcus.
