In the movie Scarface, the central character is Tony Montana, a Cuban immigrant who arrives in Miami, Florida, during the Mariel boatlift in the early 1980s. Tony and his best friend Manny Ribera are allocated to a refugee camp, where they are introduced to the world of organized crime by a local drug lord named Frank Lopez.

Tony, driven by his ambition and desire for power, quickly rises through the ranks of the criminal underworld. He becomes a hitman for Lopez, carrying out various assassinations and acts of violence. Throughout his rise, Tony's sole motivation is to provide a better life for his younger sister, Gina, who he is very protective of.

Tony's violent and reckless behavior catches the attention of Frank Lopez, who eventually promotes him to his right-hand man. Tony revels in his newfound wealth and status, indulging in excessive materialism, drugs, and women. However, he becomes increasingly paranoid and hostile, alienating those around him, including his sister Gina, who disapproves of his criminal activities.

As Tony's power and influence grow, he becomes involved in a large-scale drug trafficking operation with the Colombian cartel led by Alejandro Sosa. This partnership allows Tony to amass significant wealth and expand his empire, but it also exposes him to the dangers and risks associated with the cartels.

Parallel to his criminal rise, Tony develops a romantic relationship with Elvira Hancock, Frank Lopez's mistress. Their relationship is stormy, with Elvira experiencing both attraction and repulsion towards Tony's violent lifestyle. She ultimately leaves him when she can no longer endure the constant dangers and brutality.

Tony's relationship with his sister Gina becomes strained as well, with her succumbing to drugs and becoming entangled with his enemies. This further fuels Tony's determination to protect her and fuel his thirst for revenge.

As Tony reaches the pinnacle of power, he becomes increasingly paranoid and isolated. His actions draw the attention of law enforcement, leading to a violent confrontation with them. In a climactic and iconic sequence, Tony stands in his lavish mansion, fully armed, as a legion of enemies infiltrate his home.

The movie concludes with a dramatic shootout, where Tony is eventually gunned down and killed. Through his reckless pursuit of power, Tony Montana ultimately pays the price, succumbing to the violent world he had embraced. The film leaves a lasting impression, highlighting the consequences of greed, violence, and the cyclical nature of criminal life.
