In the film "Caché" (Hidden), directed by Michael Haneke, a married couple named Georges (played by Daniel Auteuil) and Anne (played by Juliette Binoche) live a seemingly peaceful life in Paris with their teenage son, Pierrot. However, their lives take a dark turn when they begin receiving a series of mysterious videotapes.

The videos, recorded anonymously by an unknown person, show long static shots of the exterior of their home. Initially dismissing them as harmless pranks, Georges and Anne gradually become more disturbed as they receive more tapes, which start to include surveillance footage of their daily activities. This invasion of privacy begins to take a toll on their relationship, inducing paranoia and anxiety.

As Georges delves into his past, he becomes convinced that the tapes are connected to a terrible secret he has been hiding. During his childhood, Georges and his parents took in a boy named Majid, an Algerian orphan, to live with them. However, an incident occurred, which Georges has kept buried deep within his memories.

Haunted by guilt, Georges sets out to find Majid, who he believes is responsible for the tapes. He makes a shocking discovery when he locates the now-adult Majid, who actually leads a modest, peaceful life and denies any involvement in the videos.

As the tension rises, Georges is confronted with his own guilt and accountability. The film explores various themes such as personal responsibility, guilt, and the effects of violence and trauma on individuals and society.

The ambiguity and open-endedness of the film's ending leave many questions unanswered, inviting the audience to contemplate the consequences of past actions and the ethical dilemmas faced by the characters. "Caché" serves as a thought-provoking examination of hidden guilt and the consequences it can have on one's life.
