Dr. Alan Grant, a renowned paleontologist from the events of the original Jurassic Park, is struggling to secure funds for his ongoing dinosaur research. Facing financial troubles, he reluctantly accepts an offer from Paul and Amanda Kirby, a wealthy couple who claim to want his expertise during an aerial tour of Isla Sorna, also known as Site B.

Despite his initial doubts about the couple's true intentions, Grant joins the Kirbys and a team of mercenaries on a small plane to fly over the island. However, once they arrive, Grant soon discovers that the Kirbys' true motive is not just a tour but a rescue mission to find their missing son Erik, who was stranded on Isla Sorna while paragliding.

As the group explores the treacherous island, they encounter various species of dinosaurs, both from InGen's original creation and new, more deadly ones. They desperately search for Erik, realizing that they are not alone and constantly under threat from the powerful creatures that inhabit the island.

While trying to survive and find a way off the island, the group encounters a Velociraptor pack led by the cunning alpha, "The Big One." Constantly on the run, they stumble upon Dr. Grant's former colleague, Dr. Ellie Sattler, who has been monitoring their progress remotely and tries to assist them from the mainland.

The team's struggles intensify when they discover that the Kirbys' intentions weren't entirely genuine and that their actions have put everyone's lives in even greater danger. They eventually find Erik, who has been surviving on his own by learning to evade and outsmart the dinosaurs.

As the group tries to make their escape, they are confronted by a Spinosaurus, a massive and extremely aggressive dinosaur unlike anything they have ever encountered before. The fight for survival becomes even more fierce and they are forced to battle both the relentless Spinosaurus and the cunning Velociraptors.

In a nail-biting climax, the survivors manage to fend off the predators and find temporary safety on a boat offshore. They are finally rescued and brought back to the mainland, leaving Isla Sorna behind.

Jurassic Park III ends with Dr. Grant reflecting on the dangers of tampering with nature and the necessity to leave the dinosaurs in their natural habitat. He ultimately decides to continue his research with a new appreciation for the boundaries and ethics of science.
