Dr. Alan Grant, a renowned paleontologist from the events of the original Jurassic Park, is struggling to secure funds for his ongoing dinosaur research. Facing financial troubles, he reluctantly accepts an offer from Paul and Amanda Kirby, a wealthy couple who claim to want his expertise during an aerial tour of Isla Sorna, also known as Site B.
Despite his initial doubts about the couple's true intentions, Grant joins the Kirbys and a team of mercenaries on a small plane to fly over the island. In a nail-biting climax, the survivors manage to fend off the predators and find temporary safety on a boat offshore. They are finally rescued and brought back to the mainland, leaving Isla Sorna behind.
