After the sudden disappearance of Gabriel (played by Rufus Sewell), a brilliant scientist, during a business trip, his wife Marika (played by Gillian Anderson) and their young son Erol (played by Haley Joel Osment) are left devastated. Years go by, and they struggle to move on, haunted by the mystery of Gabriel's disappearance.
