In Blue Velvet, directed by David Lynch, the young man who discovers the severed human ear is Jeffrey Beaumont, played by Kyle MacLachlan. Intrigued by the mystery, Jeffrey begins his own investigation, which leads him deep into the dark underbelly of his seemingly peaceful small town, Lumberton.
