In "The Evil of Frankenstein," Baron Frankenstein, played by Peter Cushing, returns to the town of Karlstaad after being driven out by angry villagers in the past. Determined to continue his experiments, he decides to search for the remains of his creation, the monster, in order to further study and perfect his work.

With the help of his loyal assistant, Hans, they venture into the treacherous mountains and discover a cave where the frozen body of the creature, played by Kiwi Kingston, has been remarkably preserved in ice. Excited by his find, Frankenstein brings the creature back to his laboratory, hoping to revive him.

However, unable to revive the creature on his own, Frankenstein seeks the help of a hypnotist named Zoltan. Zoltan, played by Peter Woodthorpe, uses his hypnotic powers to awaken the monster, but instead of being a submissive creation, he becomes fiercely loyal to Zoltan, who now controls and manipulates him.

As Frankenstein begins to realize the full extent of Zoltan's control over the creature, he becomes increasingly concerned about the horrific murders that the monster starts committing under Zoltan's influence. Frankenstein understands that he must break Zoltan's hypnotic spell to save both himself and the townspeople from the monster's destructive path.

The plot takes a thrilling turn as Frankenstein devises a plan to confront Zoltan and free the monster from his control. With the help of Hans, the Baron attempts to outsmart and overpower Zoltan, hoping to restore the creature's free will and prevent further bloodshed.

As the climax approaches, conflicts arise not only between Frankenstein, Zoltan, and the monster but also with the villagers who remember the past horrors caused by Frankenstein's experiments. The film explores the themes of responsibility, power, and the consequences of playing god through the Baron's desperate struggle to regain control over his creation and redeem himself in the eyes of the townspeople.

The outcome of this battle of wills and wits between Frankenstein, Zoltan, and the creature will determine the fate of Karlstaad and those involved. Will Frankenstein succeed in breaking the hypnotic spell, saving both himself and the creature from the darkness that surrounds them, or will Zoltan continue to manipulate the monster, driving him to destroy his creator and wreak havoc upon the villagers once again?
