After Dorothy returns to the land of Oz, she discovers that it has drastically changed since her previous visit. The Yellow Brick Road is in ruins, and Emerald City has been taken over by the Nome King (a villainous creature made of rock) and his army of clay minions.

Dorothy learns that most of her old friends, including the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, have been turned to stone by the Nome King. She embarks on a quest to save them and restore peace to the land. Along the way, she is guided by a wise but mysterious girl named Ozma, who possesses magical powers.

Dorothy encounters various memorable characters throughout her journey. One is Tik-Tok, a mechanical man who becomes her loyal companion. She also befriends Jack Pumpkinhead, a living scarecrow that she brings to life. Additionally, a flying couch named Gump, composed of various mismatched objects, joins their group.

As Dorothy progresses, she faces several perilous challenges. The Nome King's minions, known as Wheelers, hunt her relentlessly, adding suspense to her mission. Dorothy eventually discovers that the Nome King is vulnerable to eggs, prompting her to use this weakness to defeat him.

With Ozma's help, Dorothy manages to find the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, who have all been turned into ornaments in the Nome King's palace. She successfully frees them, and they join her in the final battle against the Nome King.

During the climactic confrontation with the Nome King, Dorothy realizes that the key to victory lies in using her imagination. By imagining a powerful weapon, she defeats the Nome King, turning him into a stone statue. Peace is restored to Oz, and Dorothy is hailed as a hero.

In the end, Dorothy decides to stay in Oz with her new friends and help rebuild the land. Ozma is revealed to be the rightful ruler of Oz and becomes the new Princess, with Dorothy as her loyal companion. The movie concludes with Dorothy and Ozma planning future adventures, hinting at the possibility of additional sequels.
