As the little girl, named Hana, copes with the loss of her mother, she finds solace in the stories her grandmother tells her about the mythical gods residing in Izumo, a sacred land in Japan. Intrigued by these tales, Hana becomes determined to attend the annual gathering of gods known as Kamiari Month, where all the deities from across Japan come together.

However, Hana's journey is not an easy one. She lives in a small, remote village, far away from the sacred land. With the support of her grandmother, Hana sets off on her quest, armed with only her mother's old map and her unwavering determination. Along the way, she encounters various challenges and meets several unlikely companions who join her on her pilgrimage.

As they travel across the beautiful landscapes of Japan, Hana and her newfound friends encounter different gods from the diverse pantheon of Japanese mythology. Each encounter unveils a unique aspect of Japanese culture and teaches Hana invaluable lessons about life, love, and the importance of honoring one's ancestors.

Through her encounters with gods such as Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun, and Susano'o, the god of storms, Hana learns about her own strengths and abilities. She discovers that she possesses a special connection to the spiritual world, inherited from her mother. This connection allows her to communicate with the gods and receive guidance and support on her journey.

As Hana's pilgrimage continues, she becomes aware of the true purpose behind the gathering of gods. A powerful threat looms over Izumo, endangering both the gods and the balance between the spiritual and human realms. Hana realizes that it is up to her to save the sacred land and the divine beings she has befriended. With bravery and determination, she must confront her fears and find the strength to fulfill her destiny.

In the climactic finale, Hana faces off against a malevolent force that seeks to disrupt the harmony between gods and humans. With the support of her friends and the guidance of the gods, she successfully combats the threat, restoring balance and ensuring the continuation of the annual gathering of gods.

Upon her return to her village, Hana is hailed as a hero, not only for saving Izumo but also for embodying the indomitable spirit of the kami (gods). She brings back a newfound appreciation for her own culture, inspiring others to embrace their heritage and honor their ancestors. In the end, Hana learns that even though her mother may be gone physically, her spirit and the love they shared will always guide and protect her.
