In the movie "The Admiral: Roaring Currents," Admiral Yi Sun-sin is appointed as the commander of the Joseon Navy during the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592. The Joseon Kingdom is in a dire situation as they are vastly outnumbered and outgunned by the Japanese forces.

At the beginning of the film, Admiral Yi's fleet is reduced to only 12 battleships and 3 support ships. The Japanese commander, Kurushima, takes advantage of his superior numbers and plans to launch a final assault to completely annihilate the Joseon Navy.

However, Admiral Yi devises a strategy to use the treacherous Myeongryang Strait, which is known for its powerful and unpredictable currents, to his advantage. He blocks the narrowest part of the strait with his remaining ships, creating a bottleneck for the Japanese fleet.

Despite being heavily outnumbered, Admiral Yi and his men fight with great determination and skill. The battle becomes a fierce and intense struggle as the Japanese fleet tries to break through the Joseon blockade. Admiral Kurushima, underestimating Yi's tactics, falls into the trap and is unable to advance.

Throughout the battle, Admiral Yi remains a courageous and resourceful leader, inspiring his men to fight with unwavering loyalty. The film also portrays the internal conflicts and power struggles within the Joseon Kingdom, as some officials doubt Admiral Yi's abilities and question his strategies.

As the battle rages on, Yi's fleet faces numerous challenges, including cannon fire, enemy boarding parties, and even a traitor in their midst. However, the Joseon Navy's determination and unity prevail, allowing them to gradually wear down the Japanese fleet.

In a dramatic climax, Admiral Yi, with only a few ships remaining, charges against Kurushima's flagship and engages in a one-on-one duel. Despite sustaining severe injuries, Yi emerges victorious, sinking the flagship and dealing a significant blow to the Japanese forces.

The movie concludes with the aftermath of the battle, where Admiral Yi is hailed as a national hero. His prowess and strategic brilliance in the Battle of Myeongryang are forever remembered in Korean history as a symbol of resilience and victory against overwhelming odds.
