In the movie One Piece Film: GOLD, the Straw Hat Pirates find themselves in the glamorous and opulent Gran Tesoro, a massive city on a gigantic ship. Under the control of the powerful and wealthy Gild Tesoro, Gran Tesoro is known as the "Golden Emperor," and the city boasts incredible wealth and luxury.
However, it soon becomes clear that Tesoro's wealth and influence have corrupted the once-great city. He exploits and enslaves the citizens, using their dreams and desires against them, as well as forcing them into gambling and entertainment to keep them under his control. Tesoro has amassed an enormous fortune through various illegal activities, including his Devil Fruit power that allows him to manipulate gold.
The Straw Hat Pirates, led by their captain Monkey D. Luffy, find themselves caught up in Tesoro's machinations when their friend and musician, Brook, is captured.
