Gloria Fuentes, a young woman living in Tijuana, Mexico, has always dreamt of becoming a beauty queen. She decides to compete in the local Miss Baja California pageant, hoping it will lead her to bigger opportunities. One night, while at a nightclub with her friend Suzu, Gloria witnesses a brutal shooting. In a state of panic, she rushes to find Suzu, only to discover that her friend has been kidnapped by a notorious drug cartel known as the Las Estrellas.
Desperate to find her friend, Gloria seeks help from the police, but to her dismay, they turn out to be corrupt and directly involved with the cartel.
