In the movie Chances Are, Louie Jeffries (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is a happily married man to his wife Corinne Jeffries (played by Cybill Shepherd). On their first anniversary, tragedy strikes when Louie is tragically killed while crossing the road. However, his story does not end there.
Louie is reincarnated as Alex Finch (played by Christopher McDonald), who grows up to become a successful and charming young man. Twenty years pass, and fate brings Alex, now a young adult, and Louie's daughter Miranda Jeffries (played by Mary Stuart Masterson) together. Unbeknownst to Miranda, she is immediately drawn to Alex's charisma and charm, feeling an unexplainable connection between them.
